Overview

Established in 1919, Hart House is one of North America's earliest student centres and has been a hub for student debates, conferences, and cultural events since its inception. For over a century, this building, located on the University of Toronto campus, has hosted nearly 100,000 events for guests such as royalty, heads of state, and international celebrities.

Ceremony and Reception Spaces

The Quad: This outdoor space, enclosed on four sides and open to the skies, includes a tented patio and multiple levels with a castle-like ambiance. This private, licensed outdoor space is exclusively booked in conjunction with the Great Hall to provide a one-of-a-kind outdoor ceremony and indoor reception option. This space can accommodate up to 250 guests.
Great Hall: The Great Hall is Hart House’s signature space and a Toronto landmark. Its their largest and most significant room and boasts beautiful stained glass and travertine tile floors. This space seats up to 250 guests.
Music Room: This gorgeous second floor room features a grand piano set within a large stone-framed window alcove. Over the years, this charming space has hosted great musicians from Paul Robeson and Oscar Peterson to Sam Roberts. This space hosts up to 100 guests.
Chapel, East Common Room, Debates Room: These three rooms are available as alternatives for ceremonies for up to 30, 100 and 120 guests, respectively.

Hart House features stunning interior features and as such, any of their interior rooms provide gorgeous backgrounds for wedding photographs. For couples looking for outdoor architectural photos, the Quad is great for this as it is enclosed on all sides by the building.
